Mário Ferreira

Dr. Mário Ferreira's connection to Law began in 1973, when he entered the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon. Still during his studies, in 1975, he applied for a public competition for a judicial officer position at the Cascais District Court, joining as a clerk in the 2nd Court of that tribunal. He worked and studied simultaneously, a choice that early on revealed the determination and rigor that would mark his entire career. After completing his degree in 1978, he began an 18-month internship as a candidate lawyer, with Dr. Caldeira de Carvalho as his patron, a reference lawyer in the Cascais District. During this period, he was assigned to collaborate on the inventory process of banker Jorge de Brito's assets, a case of great complexity and public relevance that provided him with an extraordinary legal experience while still in training. In 1980, his registration with the Portuguese Bar Association as a full lawyer was recorded, and that same year, he requested exoneration from his judicial officer position, published in the Diário da República. From then on, he dedicated himself exclusively and uninterruptedly to the practice of law, without ever recording any incident or disciplinary penalty over more than four decades. A clean record that is, in itself, a reference of professional integrity. In May 2015, having completed 35 years of activity and at the age of 60, he applied to the Portuguese Bar Association for retirement under the Statute, which was granted on May 15 of that year. Even so, he had no intention of stopping. He requested authorization from the Ombudsman to continue practicing law with retired status, the request was immediately granted, and Dr. Mário Ferreira continued forward as he always did. Today, with 45 years of active legal practice, he continues to receive clients at the office he founded in May 2008 at Rua José Florindo, 44C, in Cascais. The same address, the same dedication, and the same desire to defend those in need with rigor and proximity.
